WOMAN STEALS BACKPACK FROM JUSTICE CENTER WHILE VICTIM WAS IN COURT
CPD REPORT:
On April 24 I arrived at the Justice Center lobby in regards to a theft report needed. When I arrived I made contact with John Smith.
He stated he arrived at the Cumberland County General Session Court at 0845 hours with his backpack (valued at $30.00) containing a black belt (valued at $20.00), Phillips hair clippers (valued at $40.00), shoe cleaner (valued at $10.00), Calvin Klein hoodie (valued at $45.00), and a unknown model cell phone (valued at $500.00) (that was borrowed from a friend). He placed the backpack in the lobby on the bottom of a coat rack.
When he came out of court his bag was missing. I was able to review video footage at the Justice Center, showing Mr. Smith enter the building at 0845 hours, then at 0930 hours it shows a unknown female walk over get the backpack and exit the justice center with the bag containing the above listed items totaling $645.00 in value. The female was wearing jeans, black hoodie, brown shoes. She appeared to be tall, with dark hair in a messy bun, and medium built.
At this time she is unknown I tried calling the phone that was in the backpack 931-710-1848, the phone was off and went to voicemail. Video surveillance footage was entered into evidence at the Crossville Police Department.
