WELFARE CHECK AT VILLAGE INN LEADS TO ARREST OF BANNED INDIVIDUAL MAKING THREATS
On 09–06-2022 at approximately 11:46 p.m. City units were dispatched to the Village Inn for a welfare check. Upon their arrival at the Village Inn, officers spoke with several residents on site which stated a male subject that had been banned from the Village Inn was on the property. Several of the residents also advised the officer of the male subject threating them. The officer then observed the male subject walking through the breezeway to the front of the apartments. The male subject then headed north on Main street. The officer made contact with the male subject behind the former York’s Law Office. The male subject was then identified as Charles Wendell Houston and at that time dispatched confirmed Mr. Houston was banned from the Village Inn on July 30,2021. At this time Mr. Houston was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespassing.
