WEATHER-RELATED DEATH TOLL RISES TO 31

One more person has been reported dying from hypothermia in Tennessee.  This following the most devastating ice storm in the State’s recorded history.

The Hamblen County corner’s office said autopsy results of man found dead at his home in Morristown reveal he died of hypothermia.

Doug Farison, 53, died at his home located on Montrose Avenue in Morristown. Morristown police officers said he had been dead for several days.

Officers said they responded to Farison’s residence after a call from a friend. The friend said he hadn’t had contact with his friend in several days which was out of character.

The Morristown Fire Department did a welfare check at Farison’s home, but when they couldn’t get anyone to answer the door, they forced entry.

Firefighters found Farison in his bed with multiple layers of clothing on. Officers also found a small electric heater that was being used to heat the home.

If you’re worried about your neighbor, you can call the Morristown Police Department for a welfare check at 423-585-2701.

Here is the latest death toll list from TEMA on Friday however it does not included the Hamblen County death as of yet.  That death would bring the total to 31
