On 10/24/2024 a city deputy responded to Walmart in reference to a theft that occurred on 10/21/2024. The Deputy made contact with a man, who stated he got $100.00 cash back when he was in the store on 10/21/2024, forgot to get it, and it was gone when he went back to the self-checkout.

The officer reviewed video footage and observed a female go to the same register as the man had used when he checked out. She paid for her items with a card and then grabbed his cash, placing it into her wallet before leaving without attempting to turn it into an associate or contact law enforcement. Asset protection was able to look up the name on the card for that transaction, which showed Amanda Washam.

The officer was able to confirm her identity through her Tennessee driver’s license. He then wrote a warrant on Ms. Washam for theft of property.
