VIOLATING SCHOOL ‘CHECK IN’ COULD GET PARENTS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASSING

handcuffsEvidently parents and school visitors who don’t check in through the school office is getting out of hand.  Cumberland County Board of Education attorney Earl Patton reported at the last BOE meeting that there have been several occasions where visitors and parents have continued to violate the school policy of checking in through the front office and getting a visitors badge.  It’s getting so bad apparently, Patton advised the Board that if it continues as it has been – parents and visitors could face criminal trespassing charges after being warned not to enter the school by any door other than the front office. No specific school or incident was cited by the attorney, only that it has been a recurring problem in the school system.
