Vicki Vaden, long time Cumberland Homesteads volunteer and CHTA board member, has been selected to receive a 2015 Award of Merit from the Tennessee Historical Commission. The award is in the category of Special Commendation and is in recognition of her longstanding efforts in keeping the road expansion out of the Cumberland Homesteads National Register District. Begun in 1975, the THC Certificate of Merit Awards recognize individuals, publications, projects, and programs that make significant contributions to the study of history and/or historic preservation efforts in our state. The award will be presented next week at a special ceremony in Nashville,TN. Please join CHTA in congratulating Vicki on this achievement!
