VEC CREWS STILL WORKING AFTER ONE WEEK OF NO POWER FROM ICE STORM FOR THOUSANDS

10414880_525775327562657_6209631240592799245_nVEC workers are still hard at it around the Plateau restoring electricity to homes still in the dark.  That number has been shaved down to 4,564 today with more and more reporting their power is popping back on after a full week of being off. VEC has reported earlier this week they hope to have all power back on within it’s service area by Sunday evening at the latest.  Here is the latest statement from VEC.

7:30 a.m. ET This morning Volunteer Energy Cooperative officials report a total of 4,564 customers remain without power. County totals are Cumberland – 2,817; Fentress – 195; Overton – 229; Putnam – 478; and White – 841.
