UPDATE: ATTEMPTED ROBBERY OF BEST FRIENDS VETERINARY EMPLOYEE EARLY THIS MORNING

CNF has learned of an early morning attempted robbery of an employee of Best Friends Veterinary hospital near Highland Square (Kroger) Shopping Center.  Around  5:30am the male employee arrived at work, got out of his car and was approached by a man wearing a hoodie in the parking lot who demanded the employee’s wallet.  The victim told the suspect to get lost and a fight ensued. The employee had overtaken the suspect during the fight when the suspect ‘cut’ the victim’s arm with something sharp (was not determined exactly what the object was). As the Vet employee pull away, the suspect got up and ran into the woods.  The laceration to the victims arm was not deep and required no stitches.

UPDATE

The attacker is described as a middle-aged man, age 40-50, with white/gray facial hair and a wrinkled face. Police say he was wearing a dark-colored hoodie, possibly Under Armour brand, with two faded numbers on the chest.

Patrol and K9 officers searched the wooded area, but found no sign of the suspect.

Police warn employees and customers of other nearby businesses to be cautious and aware of their surroundings in the immediate area.

Anyone with information about the attacker should call the Crimestoppers Tip Hotline at 931-200-1173.
