(Feb  12, 6am ET) Roane County law enforcement is warning residents in the Dry Hill Road area (Rockwood)  to keep their doors locked. A man with a knife is on the loose after allegedly stabbing his dad Wednesday night. The man’s name is Steven Edward Jones.  No photo has been released by the Sheriff’s Department as of this morning.

Sheriff Stockton also said that Jones also assaulted his mother Carolyn but afterward, she was able to fire a gun at him. Fred Silvey was airlifted to UT Medical Center where he is in serious condition, while Carolyn Silvey was taken to Roane Medical Center by private car for treatment of facial wounds. The search for Jones went well into the night with Knox County helping with the aid of a helicopter and neighboring law enforcement agencies sending in tracking dogs. Jones may be wounded, and Stockton says that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
