TWO FEMALES ENGAGE IN FIGHT AT DOLLAR GENERAL MARKET THEN HIGH SPEED CHASE BY POLICE ENSUES FOR ONE

On March 25, 2023, City units were dispatched to the Dollar General Market for a physical fight between two females. Before arrival the caller stated the other female who hit her left in a Gold truck on Miller Ave. One of the dispatched officers was at Miller and Tenth and observed the Gold truck traveling at a high rate of speed towards West Ave. The officer turned around on the Gold truck which then made a sudden left turn onto Tenth St. The officer then turned left on Tenth and initiated emergency lights and siren. The vehicle began to flee and went around a car in the wrong lane of travel. The vehicle then made a right turn onto Deerfield and ran the stop sign. The officer followed and turned right onto Deerfield and after clearing the intersection continued to pursue the vehicle at a high rate of speed down Deerfield. The Gold truck went around a white Dodge Durango in the wrong lane of travel causing the Durango to leave the roadway. The Gold truck then came to a sudden stop at Deerfield and Iris Circle. The officer commanded the female to exit the vehicle and she complied. He then placed a female driver identified as Angelina May 06/05/92 in double locked handcuffs behind her back.

The officer then spoke with Angelina May regarding the incident at Dollar General. She stated the female she fought with was running her mouth and cussing her. She stated the female then got in her face and slapped her in the face. Angelina then stated she hit her back and the other female ripped her shirt off, so she left. An officer was on scene at Dollar General and advised there were no camera’s facing the parking lot and further stated there were also no witnesses on scene.

The officer explained to Miss May the civil process of obtaining a criminal summons regarding the simple assault that occurred outside Officer presence and then advised Miss May she was under arrest for evading and transported her to intake for booking.
