TWO DEAD, ONE INJURED IN THREE CAR ROANE COUNTY CRASH

img_0585Two people were killed and one person was sent to the hospital after a 3-car crash in Roane County on Tuesday night.

An accident report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol says they received a call around 7 p.m. about a wreck that happened near the intersection of Highway 27 and Eagle Furnace Road.

According to THP, a Buick Riviera driven by Brenda Gardner, 64, of Rockwood, was heading south when it crossed into the path of an oncoming station wagon, hitting it head-on. The impact caused the station wagon to crash into another car.

Troopers say Gardner was killed in the crash, as well as the passenger in the station wagon, Kaleb Poe, 20, of Spring City.

The driver of the station wagon, Michele Whittenbarger, was injured.

The driver of the third car was not injured.
