TWO CAR CRASH SENDS HOMESTEAD MAN TO U.T. MEDICAL CENTER
A two car crash late Monday afternoon sent a Crossville man to U.T. Medical center with very serious injuries. The accident occurred on 127 south at the top of Homestead hill as 53-year-old Keith Cole, traveling north toward Crossville, was stopped waiting to make a left turn near Big T’s Auto Parts. Cole’s vehicle was struck from the rear by 23-year-old Mason Netherton. The impact sent Cole’s 2003 Chevy S-10 toward the left side of the highway, overturning and coming to rest on the passenger side. Netherton’s 2001 Chevy minivan veered to the right and came to rest about 300 feet beyond the crash. Netherton was not injured. Cole was rushed to CMC and then flown to U.T. Medical Center. The THP report shows Netherton was wearing a seat belt but Cole was not. Netherton faces charges in the accident noted on the report as ‘traffic violations’.
