From Cookeville Police Department

A violent criminal is in custody tonight due to the great teamwork by the Cookeville Police Department, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, and Tennessee Tech University.

At approximately 8:30 PM this evening, the TTU campus was placed on lockdown after PCSO Lieutenant Pat Storie spotted a subject with an active warrant in the nearby area.

Thanks to the cooperation of all agencies involved, Markem Brown was apprehended on an aggravated assault warrant taken by the Cookeville Police Department.
