THE WORLD COMES TO HOMESTEAD THIS WEEKEND

The largest single weekend annual event cranks up this Saturday and Sunday in the historic Homestead community.  The 12th annual Homesteads Apple Festival kicks off Saturday morning at 10am at the Homestead Tower and Museum.  This annual celebration is a fund raiser to help keep the Tower and Museum along with the Homestead house open year round.  Typically more than eight thousand visitors attend the Apple Festival which will include over 100 arts and crafts booths, a tractor show, live entertainment all day on the stage, story-telling, a kids play zone and, of course, lots of all things apple – from apples to fried apple pies to apple cider not to mention mouth watering on-site smoked barbecue.  The Apple Festival is a two day event with Saturday activities going from 10 am till 6pm and Sunday opening at 11am and going until 5pm featuring all day gospel music from the stage.  The $5.00 admission to the event is good for both days with kids under 16 admitted free with a paid adult.  The Homesteads Apple Festival takes place on the grounds of the  Homestead Elementary School, four miles south of Crossville at the junction of 127 South and Highway 68.
