On Monday, State Representative Andy Holt said his office received multiple threatening phone calls from an unidentified person using a Memphis, Tennessee phone number.

Holt said the threats were made against him and his executive legislative assistant, Michael Lotfi in response to comments Holt made regarding his intentions to give away an AR-15.

On Monday, Holt announced on Facebook he would give away two AR-15’s, “I’m sick and tired of the media and liberal politicians attacking our right to keep and bear arms. I’ll do everything I can to ensure the 2nd Amendment is protected and people are equipped to exercise their innate right to self-defense.”
