TBI: TRUST US, CARLIE TRENT IS IN DANGER.

TBI spokesman Josh DeVine says 1,500 tips have come in since the first AMBER Alert was sent out for 9-year-old Carlie Trent.

TBI says there will be some aerial searches conducted on Wednesday night.

Carlie’s uncle, Gary Simpson, took her out of school on Wednesday, May 4 on false pretenses. The two were caught on surveillance cameras at a grocery store after that, but not seen since. An AMBER Alert was sent out the next day.

DeVine responded to online comments that many people believe Gary Simpson took Carlie to protect her. He said that’s not true, and TBI agents believe Carlie is in danger of serious bodily harm or death.

“We need the public to trust us. When we say this child is in danger, we absolutely mean it. We are not joking around with this. It’s too serious. This is a 9-year-old girl on the line, and you better believe we’re doing anything and everything to bring this girl home,” said DeVine.

DeVine says agents believe Simpson will have to come out of hiding at some point for food. That’s when he believes someone may see Simpson or Carlie.
