Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) are searching for answers surrounding the death of an inmate in Bledsoe County this weekend. The inmate has been identified as 33-year-old Christopher Axmacher.

Saturday morning, authorities discovered Axmacher unresponsive in his cell. Jail personnel attempted to resuscitate Axmacher, and called 911.

Medics rushed the inmate to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
