Starting today, Cumberland County students will be going to school one extra hour. The additional hour will affect school days only through April 29. It was a decision made by the Board of Education in light of the fact that two emergency instructional days had to be made up per the State Dept. of Education.  After looking at several options, the board chose to add the extra hour onto 13 days. Pre-K children will also be going to school the additional hour. The move brought protests from several parents who signed an online petition to have the Board reverse its decision.
