Rhea County Authorities have charged a man with the attempted murder of a Spring City woman. 911 Dispatch was notified just before Midnight on Tuesday by the female that she had been shot. The woman was transported to Rhea Medical Center and then on to Erlanger for treatment of the gunshot wound. Neither her name or condition is being released. The suspect, Gary Waldo, an acquaintance of the victim, was taken in for questioning. He was subsequently charged with attempted first degree murder and the investigation is ongoing.
