SOME EAST TN SCHOOLS CLOSED BEGINNING FEBRUARY 6 DUE TO ILLNESS

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several schools in East Tennessee announced they will be closed starting Feb. 6 due to illness. Some of the schools said they would be closed for the rest of the week. No list of symptoms other than flu-like has been provided.

Franklin Public Schools, approximately 139 miles away, were closed January 29th and 30th for the same reason.

Closures 

  • Blount County Schools: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
  • Claiborne County Schools: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
  • Heritage Christian Academy: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
  • Knoxville Catholic High School: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
  • Union County Schools: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
  • Sacred Heart Cathedral School: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
  • St. Mary’s School in Oak Ridge: Closed until Friday, Feb. 7
