CROSSVILLE POLICE REPORT:

On 7/9/2024 at approximately 1435hrs, I responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Asset protection stopped a male who was walking out of the grocery doors with concealed merchandise in his backpack. Mr. Lackey saw me approaching from inside the store, and took off jogging into the parking lot. I chased after him and I called out for him to stop, to which he responded, “you can’t touch me.” Mr. Lackey only stopped after I had chased him and caught up to him, placing him into handcuffs.

I escorted him to the back office, where the merchandise was recovered. I transported Mr. Lackey to the Cumberland County Jail, where Mr. Roberts with asset protection charged him with theft of merchandise. I also charged him with ev

ading arrest and served him with both of the warrants.
