Originally reported by the THP as an “incident” which was rerouting traffic on I-40 West bound, now reports are coming in that there, in fact, has been a shooting involving Roane County Deputies.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation tells has called in agents to review what happened.

The shooting occurred near Airport Road at exit 340 on Interstate 40.

The off-ramp has been closed.

According to the TBI, the incident is near the Roane County/Cumberland
County line.
