The remains of a woman who has been missing for several weeks may have been discovered.  47-year-old Nina Karen Owens has been missing from her H&B Farms Drive home since Aug. 10th and was reported missing on Aug. 22.  Acting on leads, Cumberland County  investigator’s began searching a large secluded area off Pugh Cemetery Rd.  After two days of searching, deputies located human skeletal remains on Sept. 29th. They believe those remains are Owen’s.  Investigators contacted the State of Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office, the Middle Tennessee State University Anthropology Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to assist in the collection of the remains. Sheriff Casey Cox stated that the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case as a homicide.
