SEVEN SHOT, THREE DEAD IN NASHVILLE APARTMENT SHOOTING

A shooting in West Nashville left three people dead and four more injured on Friday night.

According to Metro police, the incident took place just before 10 p.m. at an apartment on the 2000 block of Torbett Street.

Six members of the same family were shot, two of them fatally. Police say 29-year-old Christian Akail Johnson who is believed to be one of the two suspects who entered the home was also shot to death.

The two family members who died were both teenage boys who police identified as 18-year-old Zacquez Sherrell and 15-year-old Tavarius Sherrell.

Those who were injured include their 40-year-old mother, two of their sisters ages 16 and 20, and their 13-year-old younger brother. All four of them were taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center and are expected to recover.

While a motive has not yet been confirmed, police say robbery is among the motives being considered for the shooting.

Three guns were recovered from inside. Detectives are still investigating the series of events after the two suspects entered the home.
