ROCKWOOD MAN KILLED BY TRAIN AFTER ROBBERY

A Rockwood man was struck and killed by a train Monday afternoon after police say he tried to rob a man. The incident occurred just north of the Stratton St. crossing. Authorities say that 39-year-old Ronald Treadaway was at a home adjacent to the area of the railroad tracks and allegedly stole money from the resident’s wallet. A scuffle took place with Treadaway fleeing from the house down a hill and into the path of a northbound train. Treadaway was pronounced dead-at-the-scene.
