Two Harriman men are still in the hospital after a train hit their car Friday night.

Darius Gallaher, 21, and Hunter Crass, 20, were both listed in critical condition at UT Medical Center Sunday night. The other passengers, Roderick Patrick Drummond, 22, of Greenville, SC and Gallaher’s sister, Jadah Gallaher, 18, of Harriman, both died in the accident.

Darius and Jadah Gallaher and Drummond played basketball at Roane State Community College in Harriman. 

“It’s very difficult for our players to think about it. They all just get chocked up over it,” said head coach Randy Nesbit. 

Nesbit says Drummond was a great man, on and off the court. 

“He just had a very humble spirit and a really mature perspective on things because he was a Godly man,” Nesbit said. 

Nesbit was with Drummond’s family when they came from South Carolina to take their son home to be buried.

“Grieved terribly for a long period of time over the body, but then at the end praised God that they would be reunited with their son someday,” Nesbit said. 

The coach was also with the Crass and Gallaher families at the hospital Sunday.  

“Their family is doing remarkably well. I mean it’s an unspeakable thing for both sets of parents to have to deal with,” Nesbit said. 

Especially for Darius, who lost his sister Jadah in the accident. 

“Darius will have a very difficult time. He was the driver, and his sister, I mean they were so close that they were actually going to room together at MTSU this coming fall. So he’s got a lot of healing to do,” Nesbit said. 

There is a fund set up for the victim’s families called Pray for Harriman.
