ROANE, RUTHERFORD COUNTIES ANNOUNCE 1,600 NEW JOBS COMING TO TOWN

Hundreds of new jobs are about to open up in Roane County.  CVMR will be moving their Toronto-based headquarters to the Horizon Center in Roane County. The company is an industry-leader in 3-D printing and advanced metals technology. Chairman and CEO of the company Kamran Khozan said that the move to the United States will eventually bring with it over 600 new high-paying jobs.

In Rutherford County, an unnamed company is bringing 1,000 new jobs to Smyrna   The average wage of the jobs will be $38,000.

Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce President Paul Latture made the announcement Monday morning during a special-called meeting of the Industrial Development Board.

Monday morning, the IDB approved more than $18,000 in tax incentives for what’s being called Project Cedar.

“Project Cedar, once announced tomorrow, will come with 1,000 new jobs in Rutherford County, Smyrna in particular, and over $100,000,000 in capital investment ,” said Paul Latture, President of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

Rutherford County has seen a great deal of job growth recently. Last year alone, the Chamber helped bring in more than 2,400 new jobs.

Latture said the growth shows Rutherford County is the place to be.

“Number one: our location. Number two: our great quality of life we have here,” Latture said. “We have good leadership in both the public and private sector, that which continues to foster an environment companies want to be a part of. If you look at Rutherford County in the general region, we’re kind of the hot place right now for new jobs and people moving in.”

The project is also expected to create more than 600 jobs in indirect employment.
