THP Sergeant Ted Swafford (Ret.) of Crossville has passed away at the age of 72.  Ted served 36 years with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.  He was a farmer and served more than four decades with the Cumberland County Fair Association along with many other local clubs and organizations including The Shriners, Farm Bureau Board, Exchange Club and many more.  Ted loved to cook too.  He was always lending his cooking skills to local groups throughout the years.  He was born December 5, 1943 in Roane County, TN the son of Ted Jr. and Lozenia Tollett Swafford.  Ted is survived by his wife Irene, daughter- Kristi Pugh and her husband George and sisters- Linda Long and Shirley Arnold.  Visitation will be held at Central Baptist Church in Crossville TN on Wednesday October 5th from 10 am CST. Til 2 pm CST. with funeral service at 2pm CST. Burial will be at Big Lick Cemetery.
