capture_044_05072014_160946The case of a woman from Hermitage with Cumberland County ties has taken an unusual twist when the mother of a man who is a person of interest in the case is accused of interfering in the search. Nikki Burgess disappeared from her Hermitage home May 23rd. Since then, friends and family have been trying to find her and have posted missing person fliers about her. On Saturday they say a woman started tearing down their fliers. Nikki’s friends say she’s the mother of  Caleb Cannon who has not officially been charged with anything..but is being looked at hard by investigators.  Friends of Nikki, who is a 1996 graduate of Cumberland County High School, told police “When she (Caleb’s mother) walked up, she reached her hand back and I thought she was going to hit my friend. That’s when she reached up and tried to rip down the poster and I was also scared. We thought she was going to rear-end us, she was driving erratically ” said Brittany McCann, who caught the whole thing on cell phone video. Right now Metro Police are working to identify a second person of interest in the case. They’re still trying to find Nikki’s body and make an arrest. (Fox 17/CNF)
