RELIEF IN SIGHT – UNTIL THEN MORE CITY COUNCIL SQUABBLING IN STORE

Hopefully, Crossville is just a couple months away from getting much needed relief from the constant squabbling within the City Council – mainly from Council Members Kerley and Souza.  For years, there has been more time given to internal bickering, allegations, inuendos, badgering, and hundreds of slamming emails than the really important business of governing the city. City taxpayers are hoping for better days ahead after the November elections.  Neither Kerley nor Souza are running for re-election to the Council.   Kerley and Souza are still scheduled to appear on court in October over an altercation after one of the Council meetings back in June.  But until the November elections, there is still time for more in-fighting between the two Council members.  Today could be one of those times.  A special called meeting today at noon has items on the agenda that could turn into a heated argument between Kerley and Souza,  if Souza attends the meeting.  He had indicated earlier that he would be out of town today. One agenda item in particular has Kerley wanting the District Attorney to intervene in what appears to be an extortion charge against Souza from Kerley.   Todays meeting was originally set for Monday, then changed to today at 5pm, then changed to today at noon.  CNF will post the live audio stream of today’s meeting.
