PUTNAM COUNTY: ONE PERSON KILLED, MANHUNT UNDER WAY FOR SUSPECT

One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting at a Putnam County home early this  morning.

It happened just before 5 a.m. at a home on White Oak Flatt Road which runs between Sparta and Cookeville.

The injured victim was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Their condition was not known.

Authorities are searching for a man identified as Willie Jones for questioning in connection to the shooting and a suspected robbery.

The 34-year-old is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 225 pounds. He has green eyes and multiple tattoos.

Jones was last seen driving a 2007 gold Chevrolet Impala with Tennessee plate R7209B.

Jones has an extensive criminal history. Police said he is considered armed and dangerous and advise to not approach if seen.
