A Putnam County Criminal Court case has the potential to set the state standard in determining what is an appropriate length of time between cell phone seizures and searches. In the case, a Cookeville man, Richard Lynn Copeland, is charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for allegedly viewing child pornography on his cell phone prior to July 2014.
