PULITZER PRIZE WINNING NOVEL WRITTEN ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST UNANIMOUSLY BANNED IN MCMINN COUNTY FROM SCHOOL CURRICULUM
MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. — The McMinn County Board of Education voted unanimously to remove a book about the holocaust from the school curriculum.
The vote was held during a called meeting on January 10.
Board members said the graphic novel called “Maus” by Art Spiegelman has inappropriate language and graphic depictions.
After discussing options like redacting portions of the book if given permission by the author or replacing the book with another book about the holocaust, board members decided to remove the book altogether. FULL STORY HERE

These School Board members today need to be reigned in…seriously. They claim to ban this book (censorship) because there are several slang curse words and a depiction of a nude female which is inappropriate. Newsflash for the Board and parents, your children, even elementary school age, today are being exposed to far worst things everyday on Tik-Tok, SC, FB, IG and other internet platforms.
Additionally, in the book the Nazi’s are described as being “cats” and the Jewish community as being “mice”. I’m sure if the book described Israel as being the “cats” and Palestinians as “mice”, the School Board would be just fine with the content, regardless of how vulgar it was deemed.
