WIND FARM PROTESTERS PLAN PICKETING COURTHOUSE ALL DAY MONDAY

Citizens against the proposed wind farm in Crab Orchard have planned a protest for Monday at the Cumberland County Courthouse. The following statement was given regarding the protest:
“…citizens of Cumberland County will be demonstrating against the Crab Orchard Wind Mill Farm proposal on 10/17 prior to the County Commission meeting.  We will be on the lawn area of the Courthouse most of the day.
The objective of this protest is to demand that the elected County officials protect the health, safety and welfare of the property owners and residents of Cumberland County, as they are so mandated.  It is expected that participants of the protest will address some of the following issues:
1) The need for the Commission to approve resolutions for financial security of the residents, such as bonding for property value loss, tax revenue loss and tourism loss if the wind mill farm is developed.
2) The need for the Commission to approve resolutions for financial security of the residents for the destruction of the roads and utilities.
3) The concern that (some) members of County government appear to be biased toward this wind mill project, having done little to no research conducted on the  HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE issues of its constituency.
