The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Highway 68 and Hayes Road Saturday morning after a delivery truck hooked the low hanging lines on Pugh Road and Highway 68.  A homeowner said the fiber optic lines were new and that he had told the crew installing them that they were hanging them too low but they didn’t listen.

According to the responding Deputy’s report, an employee for Spectrum arrived, cleared the roadway and confirmed that the installers fastened the lines below the designated mounting location on the power pole.

VEC also assessed the leaning power pole.

The delivery truck was not damaged and was driven from the scene.
