NEW LOCATION PROPOSED FOR RECREATIONAL FACILITY
The Crossville City Council has authorized the city attorney to proceed with contracts to purchase property on north Main Street as a potential new location for the proposed Recreational Facility.
The City has already purchased 24 acres on Webb avenue earlier this year with the idea of building the facility there (near Eye Centers of Tennessee).
At least three Council members voted in favor of the city attorney proceeding with the acquisition of the land adjacent to the new John Deere dealership. Two council members, Harrison and Crawford voted against the motion. If the purchase of the land is successful, that would give the City two locations to choose from on locating the Rec center – which could possibly be completed within the next three years.

In the direct city limits, (walking distance for most).
Else’s problems could arise.

I guess I don’t understand why they would need to purchase 2 properties? Is that normal for projects such as this?

I guess some council member’s friend owns this property and wants to make a killing. Just like the property across from the handle mill that was purchased for $175,000 and is a DUMP!

Seems like they are buying up everything ….wonder who REALLY owns property? Are we just lining the pockets of the good ole boy network?
