MURDER SUSPECT DEAD AFTER BARRICADING HIMSELF IN HOME AND COMMITING SUICIDE IN KNOXVILLE
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The United States Marshal Service and Knox County Sheriff’s Office were trying to apprehend a murder suspect at a home in West Knox County Monday afternoon.
Law enforcement on the scene said the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The suspect was identified as Christopher David Price, 36, who police say shot and killed another person at Harb’s Market in Knoxville. He had an active warrant for his arrest.
The Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force spotted Price at a home near Lovell Road. The task force reported to the scene at 5:33 p.m.
A spokesperson said the Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force requested the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Patrol & S.W.A.T. after Price barricaded himself in a residence on the 1609 block of Sails Way.
While Price barricaded himself into the home and one shot was fired, according to KCSO Spokesperson Kimberly Glenn.
