It’s being tagged as a murder suicide in Monterey.

Officers say they responded to a call on East Williams Street Sunday afternoon and once inside officers found two people deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

The deceased identified as Daniel Paul Harville and Angela Harville.

Police say it appears that the husband shot his wife and then shot himself.

Police records also indicate a history of domestic violence at the residence.

Sheriff Eddie Farris called it a tragic event for the community of Monterey.

“We are deeply saddened to see such a tragic incident happen in the nice town of Monterey,” said Sheriff Eddie Farris. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

A joint investigation between the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and Monterey Police department is currently ongoing.
