MSNBC OFFICIALLY CHANGES NAME TO ‘MS NOW’

12/3/25
MSNBC officially changed its name to MS NOW on November 15, 2025, following a corporate split from NBCUniversal. The new name, which stands for “My Source for News, Opinion and the World,” is part of a rebrand as the network transitions to the new independent company, Versant.
  • New Name: MS NOW
  • Full Meaning: “My Source for News, Opinion and the World”
  • Programming: The network has stated that while the name and graphics have changed, the mission, personalities, and editorial content will remain the same.
The change was made because the network and several other cable channels (including CNBC, USA Network, E!, and the Golf Channel) were spun off into a new, independent, publicly traded company called Versant. As a result, the network could no longer use the “NBC” name or the iconic peacock logo, which remain with NBCUniversal.
Key details of the change:
  • New Name: MS NOW, which is a backronym for “My Source for News, Opinion, and the World”.
  • Mission: The network emphasizes that its programming, hosts, and editorial content have not changed, using the tagline “Same Mission. New Name”.

  • Availability: The channel remains available on the same channel numbers across all major cable providers and streaming platforms (such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Fubo).
  • Website: The website address is now MS.NOW, with the former MSNBC.com redirecting to the new domain.
