MOB TRIES TO ROB STUCK AMAZON DELIVERY TRUCK
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A mob of people tried to break into an Amazon truck overnight after it jackknifed and got stuck on an icy road in southeast Memphis, the driver told FOX13.
The crash happened about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Holmes Road between Citation Drive and Pleasant Hill Road, which is near an Amazon facility, the truck driver said.
He said he was coming from Atlanta to make a drop-off at the facility but did not check weather conditions before his arrival.
As he was waiting over for help, the driver told FOX13 that a group of people tried to cut open the back of his truck and rob it.
He said he managed to stop the group from getting inside.
It was stuck between a row of trees for about 11 hours, with its back wheels in a ditch, before being pulled out by a tow truck about 10:15 a.m. Thursday.
A white pickup truck also spun out and landed in the same ditch a few feet away before the pickup truck driver abandoned it, the Amazon driver told FOX13
