A potentially explosive device was found earlier today and was being transported to Crossville when authorities were advised the military device could be ‘live’. Thats when the transport stopped – on 127 North at the 3400  block. The Knoxville bomb squad is  on the scene evaluating the device. Businesses nearby have been advised to shelter in place and traffic from both directions has been rerouted around the danger zone.

Update, the device was identified as a potential item of military ordnance the item was rendered safe and is in the possession of the Knoxville Bomb Squad. North Main Street will be opened shortly. Sorry for any inconveniences this incident may have caused. – From: CCCEMA
