MIDDLE TENNESSEE SCHOOL REPORTS OUTBREAK OF ‘BED BUGS’

Education leaders in Jackson County say they’re working with the state health department following reports of bed bugs.

A parent reached out to FOX 17 News with concerns regarding a bed bug outbreak at Jackson County High School. A spokesperson for the district says they received reports of bed bugs prior to Spring Break in March.

The district contracted with a professional pest control company to inspect and treat the school while students were not there. The school district says they are now investigating a recent report and are working with the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) to ensure proper protocols are being followed.
