Around 1:45 Eastern time this afternoon Kingston Fire First Responders, the police department ,THP and an ambulance were sent to the area just east of Kingston’s main exit in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 at the 354.2 mile marker. This is the High Point Orchard Road overpass. There a man jumped from the bridge onto the interstate. No further details have been given at this time but we do know the person was responsive upon the arrival of the emergency personnel and was transported by ambulance to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville in serious condition.  The interstate was shut down in both directions until the patient was transported . The Roane County Sheriffs Department is leading the investigation
