KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — 317 lbs. of cocaine were seized by the Knoxville Police Department on Thursday.

An officer was called to investigate reports of a suspicious package at a west Knoxville business that was called in by management. The officer requested back-up and a K-9.

K-9 Beny sniffed the packages, positively alerting to the odor of drugs. A search of the packages revealed 144 kilos of powder cocaine with an estimated street value of $4.32 million.

“We always encourage others to report suspicious behavior or packages to authorities and that’s exactly what the business did in this instance,” the police department said. FULL STORY HERE
