MADISONVILLE WOMAN TRIES TO SHUT DOWN WAFFLE HOUSE BY CLAIMING TO BE FBI

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Madisonville woman has been charged with criminal impersonation after she allegedly said she was an FBI agent and tried to shut down a Waffle House, according to court records.

An arrest warrant dated February 11, 2024, states that an officer was called to the Waffle House on Highway 411 in Madisonville because a woman was claiming to be an FBI agent.

When the officer arrived, they spoke with an employee outside the business who told them that the woman said she was with the FBI and was there to investigate and shut down the restaurant for “selling drugs out the back door.”

The employee told the officer she asked the woman for her credentials and was shown a brown notebook with a Tennessee State Badge, but when she asked for the woman’s badge, the woman reportedly told her she did not have to show her that.

The officer then spoke with the woman, identified as Kimberly Michelle Gonzales, and the warrant states that she told the officer she was working for the FBI and was there to close the Waffle House down for selling drugs.

However, the officer recognized Gonzales and knew that she had represented herself as different people in the past. The officer arrested Gonzales and charged her with criminal impersonation. She was taken to jail without any further incident.
