LONGTIME ROCKWOOD BUSINESSMAN PASSES

562a990c6e60f.imageJames Clarence “Junior” McCullough Jr., 79, of Rockwood, TN passed away on Friday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Roane Medical Center, in Harriman, TN with his family by his side. Mr. McCullough was a member and elder of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rockwood, TN. He was a 1956 Graduate of Rockwood High School. Junior was a retired, 28-year veteran of the U. S. Army Tennessee National Guard. He was a 50-year member of the Rockwood Lodge F&AM #403, Alhambra Shriners (Chattanooga) and Scottish Rite (Knoxville). He was a member of the Rockwood Knights of the Pythias Lodge, Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star #382 Rockwood Lodge. Junior was a member and past president of the Rockwood Civitan Club, member of the Rockwood High School Band and Tiger Football Booster Clubs, former chairman of the Roane County Election Commission, and served as a board member of the Rockwood Water and Gas Board for two terms. Junior was very civic minded and loved the community in which he lived and raised his family. He was owner and proprietor of Junior’s Restaurant in Rockwood, TN.; “Serving the Best Cup of Coffee anywhere around” for 28 years. He was a member of the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, where his restaurant was voted and was awarded “Business of the Year Award.” Many in the area will remember Junior on BBB TV where he hosted the “Sunday Morning Gospel Show with Junior” and later the “Gospel Celebration Show with Junior.” Above all of his accomplishments and life’s opportunities, Junior was a devoted husband, daddy, brother, poppa and friend to all who knew him. He loved his family very much!
