LONGTERM CUMBERLAND CO CIRCUIT CLERK, LARRY SHERRILL DIES AT 59
Former longterm Cumberland county Circuit Court Clerk Larry Sherrill had died at 58 after years of medical complications. 
After five terms as Clerk, in 2018 he announced he would not seek re-election to another four-year term and used his return to Roane State Community College’s Cumberland County campus as a springboard for other opportunities.
A former deputy and investigator with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, Sherrill obtained a certificate in police management from Roane State several years ago.
