LOCAL FAMILY SEEKS HELP AFTER DEVASTATING HOUSE FIRE LOSS

A Cumberland County family is in dire need of almost everything after losing everything in a Sunday morning house fire in Fairyland Acres.  Beckie and Oscar Cain along with Beckie’s mother escaped serious injury when their home became engulfed in flames Sunday morning.  There is now a Gofundme account set up to aid the family in getting back on their feet and has raised over seven-thousand-dollars of a goal of $30,000.  Here is the account given on the Gofundme account of what happened:

I woke up to something popping and went downstairs to see what it was. there was a fire blazing and smoke in the room off our old kitchen.  My husband, a recent heart transplant recipient, and my mom, currently stage 4 ahlzheimers, and her little dog and I escaped with our lives and the pjs on our backs.  My husband had no slippers on and burned his feet.  Sadly, and this kills us, our dog and 4 cats were lost in the fire.  We lost everything including our phones, wallets, clothes, furnishings, antiques, everything.  We lived but our hearts are breaking for the loss of our pets.  We need to buy a home.  This one wasn’t insured since it was my grandfathers originally who built it by hand, every rock, brick, beam.  They didn’t have it insured and once they were gone and we moved in we didn’t see the need to insure.  Why, I can’t tell you.  I’m numb, we are all in shock.  My mother is staying with my Aunt and we are staying with friends.  Hoping to find a house soon.  My friend is composing this for me as I can’t put two words together.  We need to get my husbands medicines and so much more.  Everyone has been kind by asking what is it that we need, but until we have a home, there’s no sense in getting anything for the lack o f any place to put items people want to give us.  my friend said a gofundme account may help solve the problem in getting a home.  We will need it to be near my Aunt as she will have to move in with us at some point given her age.  So, some place in Crossville, TN in town or near Lake Tansi.  A 3 bedroom, 2 to 2.5 bath will be necessary and the house will have to be one story with no stairs.  I don’t like asking for help, but my friend insists that she set this up for me and my husband and mother.  So this is my story, written entirely by my friend, Jeannie Fitzgerald.  Our names are Beckie and Oscar Cain.
