LEGALIZING MARIJUANA, ABORTION BAN, GUNS ON CAMPUS CONSIDERED BY TN LAWMAKERS THIS WEEK

The Tennessee General Assembly has several bills to consider Tuesday that many Tennesseans have been closely following.

A House subcommittee is expected to discuss a bill Tuesday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks.

Exceptions would exist if the mother’s health would be at risk.

The House Health Subcommittee is scheduled to begin discussion on HB1758 at its 8:30 a.m. meeting.

Other bills up for discussion during the week of March 14 include a bill to legalize medical marijuana, a bill to allow staff at public colleges to carry handguns and a plan that would require Tennessee students to use the restroom that matches their birth certificate.
