Head Coach Butch Jones named Thursday senior Justin Worley as starting quarterback to begin the University of Tennessee 2014 football season.

Jones said in a press conference that he has tremendous confidence in him and that Worley “gives this football program the best opportunity to win.”

Worley competed against sophomores Joshua Dobbs and Nathan Peterman for the position, whom Jones says will now complete for the number two position.

Tennessee begins the season on Sunday, August 31 against Utah State. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network.
